The Proud Image Chorus is an all-male barbershop chorus of about 25 singers based out of Waterloo, IA and is the Black Hawk Metro chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. Founded in 1979, the Proud Image has appeared at International Contests a total of three times in its short tenure as a chorus. Once as the microphone test chorus in 1984, and twice as competitors in 1986 and 1988. The chorus is currently tied for third place in total championships in the 60-year history of the Central States District (CSD), though the Proud Image has only been a chapter for half of the time as the chorus' ahead and behind them. The Proud Image were the CSD champions in 1980, 1985, 1987, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2007. ==Chapter quartets== In July 2007, for the first time in the chapter's history, the Proud Image Chorus was represented by a quartet in the International Contest held in Denver, CO. Collegiate quartet Night & Day qualified for Internationals during CSD district competition in April, and placed 14th in the International Collegiate Quartet Contest.
